On 1 December 2023, the Royal Thai Embassy in Budapest hosted a reception to celebrate the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand, the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and Thai Father’s day, at the Anantara New York Palace Budapest Hotel, with Mr. István Jakab, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, as the Guest of Honour. The event brought together about 200 representatives from government and private sectors in Hungary, diplomatic corps, Thai community, and entrepreneurs from Croatia.
During the opening ceremony, Mr. Nopakhun Luichant, Chargés d'Affaires a.i., delivered his remarks paying tribute to His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua. Furthermore, on the occasion of 50th Anniversary of the establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Thailand and Hungary, Mr. Nopakhun Luichant abridged the close and cordial bilateral relationship between Thailand and Hungary that can be traced back to over 150 years. The speech highlighted Royal visits of 4 Thai Kings to Hungary, economic relations and other ongoing cooperations. The commemoration of the 50th Anniversary has been a great opportunity to further strengthen the existing relations between Thailand and Hungary in the many years to come, especially the economic ties through Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) project, Bio-Circular-Green Economy (BCG), and Land Bridge project.
On this occasion, Mr. István Jakab, congratulated the 50th Anniversary of establishment of the establishment of Diplomatic Relations. He expressed his advocation for the bilateral development between Thailand and Hungary, which has developed comprehensively, notably on the establishment of the Inter-Parliamentary friendship groups in both countries, and various successful cooperations.
At the Reception, the Musical of compositions of His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great was played by Mr. Olah Vilmos, a famous Hungarian violin player. The reception showcased Thai product and Thai cultural heritage, in cooperation with Thai-Croatian Chamber of Commerce, Ananatara New York Palace Hotel, Thai President Foods (Hungary), Hungarian Muaythai Federation, Im-oon Thai Food, and Thai Piac webshop.
