On 6 September 2024, H.E. Mr. Sathana Kashemsanta Na Ayudhya, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Hellenic Republic and current Chairperson of the ASEAN Committee in Athens (ACAT), led the Ambassadors of Indonesia, the Philippines and Viet Nam to pay a joint courtesy call on Mr. Stavros Arnaoutakis, Regional Governor of Crete, at the Governor’s office. They exchanged views on the promotion of cooperation between ASEAN and Crete, Greece’s largest island, as well as to raise the awareness of ASEAN in Crete. The Ambassador also gave an interview to the local television stations.

Later, the Ambassador hosted the 34th Meeting of the ACAT in Crete, which was also attended by the Ambassadors of Indonesia, the Philippines and Viet Nam. They discussed the work plan of the ACAT for the rest of 2024 during the Chairmanship of Thailand and exchanged views on the ACAT’s administrative operation in order to expand ASEAN-Greece cooperation in areas of mutual interests.
