On 10 April 2025, Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, and Ms. Lina Gandløse Hansen, State Secretary for Trade and Investments of Denmark, co-chaired the 7th Thai-Danish Political Consultation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.
Both sides reviewed bilateral relations and discussed ways forward towards a Thai-Danish green strategic partnership to further strengthen sectoral cooperation in key areas, including circular economy, livestock and agriculture, innovation, green transition, health, logistics and maritime. The two sides also discussed ways to expand trade and investment, including through the timely conclusion of the negotiations on a Thailand-EU FTA, Denmark’s support for Thailand’s accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and waiver of visa for Thai ordinary passport holders into the Schengen area.
The State Secretary for Trade and Investments of Denmark also hosted a luncheon in honour of the Thai delegation, during which both sides exchanged views on current regional and global developments, including geopolitical and geoeconomic dynamics, as well as the situation in ASEAN, Europe, and the Middle East.
