Promoting Thailand through Fashion and Creativity: “Blooming Lotus” Event in New York

On April 24, 2025, Ms. Somjai Taphaopong, Consul General of Thailand in New York, together with officials from the Royal Thai Consulate-General, was invited to attend “Blooming Lotus: 3.1 Phillip Lim x Amazing Thailand”, an event hosted by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), New York Office, in collaboration with the renowned fashion brand 3.1 Phillip Lim, at its store in New York City.

The event, organized under the leadership of TAT Director Chompu Marusachot and 3.1 Phillip Lim CEO Wen Zhou, showcased a limited edition collection by 3.1 Phillip Lim, inspired by HBO’s The White Lotus Season 3, which was filmed on Koh Samui—one of Thailand’s most popular tourist destinations. The initiative aimed to promote Thai tourism under the campaign 5 Must Do in Thailand: Must Taste, Must Try, Must Buy, Must See, and Must Seek. The collection reflected elements of Thai lifestyle and culture, reimagined through the lens of fashion.

On this occasion, the Consul General praised the international success of The White Lotus and the 3.1 Phillip Lim collection, which beautifully merged contemporary fashion with Thai cultural inspiration. She emphasized how Thai culture and destinations continue to inspire creativity across artistic platforms and invited everyone to experience these inspirations firsthand in Thailand.
