The Royal Thai Embassy, New Delhi, in collaboration with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, organized the Khon performance, Thai masked dance, depicting the story of Ramakien, a Thai epic based on the Hindu tale of Ramayana, episode of Hanuman the Mighty Warrior, at Bhim Hall, Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, on 7 February 2025. It aims to showcase Thai culture and the elegance of Khon, Thailand's highest form of prestigious and exquisite theatrical art, as well as to celebrate Thailand-India cultural ties. Khon has also been inscribed in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity since 2018. At the opening ceremony, Mr. Thirapath Mongkolnavin, Chargé d'Affaires, a.i, Royal Thai Embassy, and Mrs. Nandini Singla, ICCR Director General, as a co-host, delivered a welcoming remark.

The Khon performance is part of the annual Thai Festival “Namaste Thailand Festival 2025 EP.1” and performed by teachers and students from Chiang Mai College of Dramatic Arts, Bunditpatanasilpa Institute of Fine Arts, an institute under the Ministry of Culture of Thailand.
