On 26 August 2026, Mr. Chettaphan Maksamphan, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, received the 2026 “Samphao– Navathong” Award on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its achievement as a Top Ministry-Level Public Agency in Business Facilitation. The award ceremony was presided over by Professor Emeritus Dr. Kasem Watanachai, Privy Councillor, at the main Auditorium, University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce.

The award reflects the commitment and dedication of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to improving work processes in order to efficiently facilitate the business sector and the public. As global developments increasingly impact the economy and the conduct of foreign affairs, the Ministry has placed greater emphasis on strategic work and proactive economic diplomacy, serving as a “door-knocker” and “bridge-builder” to connect economic opportunities at all levels. This award will serve as an important encouragement for the Ministry to further develop into a modern, transparent and efficient organization, and to continue serving as a key mechanism for driving the country’s economy towards sustainable growth.

The award ceremony also featured a keynote address by H.E. Mr. Pakorn Nilprapunt, Deputy Prime Minister responsible for legal affairs, on the topic “Unlocking legal constraints for cost-effective business,” attended by representatives from both the public and private sectors.
