On 18 December 2023, H.E. Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with H.E. Mr. Saito Ken, the newly appointed Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), in Tokyo, to discuss ways to promote economic cooperation in future industries, such as EV and hydrogen vehicles, clean energy, biofuels, and decarbonization.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of human resource development and encouraged more Japanese investment which supported the transfer of deep technology and knowledge sharing so that Thailand can further develop its future industries. METI Minister also expressed appreciation for H.E. Mr. Srettha Thavisin, Prime Minister, for reaffirming Thailand’s support for Japanese automobile manufacturers to make a smooth transition from ICE to EV.
