On 21 October 2024, Ms. Huda Ali Shareef, Charge d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Maldives to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Psusist Wongsurawat, Minister attached to the Department of South Asia, Middle East and Africa, on the occasion of her assumption of duty. They discussed ways to promote bilateral relations between Thailand and the Maldives in various areas.

On this occasion, the Minister stressed the cordial relations between the two countries, particularly in trade and tourism cooperation, reflecting the strong ties. Both sides expressed readiness to strengthen relations, especially through high-level visits and ongoing negotiations on various agreements and MoUs between Thailand and the Maldives. In addition, the Charge d’Affaires a.i. expressed the interest in Thailand's expertise in public health and tourism industry, as well as readiness to expand cooperation in public health and development.
