On 24 March 2025, HE. Dr. Lalivan Karnchanachari, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call by H.E. Ms. Aruni Ranaraja, Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism of Sri Lanka on the occasion of the latter’s visit to Thailand to attend the 6th Thailand-Sri Lanka Bilateral Political Consultations held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 25 March 2025.

Both sides exchanged views on the close bilateral relations between Thailand and Sri Lanka starting over 800 years ago. They affirmed the commitment to work closely to further strengthen relationship between the two countries in all dimensions, especially in the areas of trade and investment, cultural cooperation, and Buddhist tourism.
