On 21 March 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, represented by Mr. Adittha Buakhamsi, Minister Counsellor, participated in the Iftar dinner organised by the Thai Students Groups in the Central region of Malaysia (TC) at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in Selangor, whereby the officials of the Royal Thai Embassy; Prof. Dr. Ssekamanya Siraje Abdallah, Deputy Director of the International Institute for Muslim Unity (IIMU) at IIUM; Prof. Dr. Dawood Abdulmalek Yahya Al-Hidabi, former Director of IIMU; and more than 80 Thai students from TC and Malaysian students were also present.
 
Programmes of the event included a Special Lecture on the “Ramadan Away From Home and Lessons From Fasting in Foreign Land” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Radwan Jamal Yousef Elatrash from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at IIUM; the Holy Quran recitation by Mr. Ahmad Lohya, Thai students from the Faculty of Economics and Management Science at IIUM; and the translation of the scripture by Mr. Muhammatnawawee Marudin, Thai students from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at IIUM. The event was successfully held, and filled with religious, academic and personal skills knowledge.
 
The Royal Thai Embassy has been organising the Iftar yearly with a view to supporting religious activities of Thai Muslim students in Malaysia during the Ramadan, and strengthening their networks and unity. The activities also aim at developing public mind among the students, while equipping them with necessary skills for today’s employment demand, and enhancing their potentials as representatives and cultural diplomats of Thailand in Malaysia. As for the Ramadan 1446 H, the Royal Thai Embassy organised the Iftar dinners for Thai students across Malaysia, including in the Northern region at the Albukhary International University (AIU) in Kedah, Central region at IIUM, and Eastern region at the Sultan Ismail Petra International Islamic College University (KIAS) in Kelantan, whereby the students expressed their appreciation to the Royal Thai Embassy for protecting and overseeing their well-being, and continuously organising useful activities for Thai students in Malaysia.
