On 7 April 2025, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kolkata organized an auspicious ceremony at the chancery to receive a Buddha statue “Phra Phuttha Sirindhorn Theparat Mongkhol Phuwadol Santi” graciously bestowed by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. Miss Siriporn Tantipanyathep,
Consul-General of Thailand in Kolkata along with officials participated in this auspicious ceremony.

      The Buddha statue is a metal sculpture in the “Pang Leela” (walking posture). Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously presided over the sacred consecration ceremony at Wat Suthatthepwararam Ratchaworamahawihan, Bangkok, on 22 July 2023. In an expression of royal benevolence, Her Royal Highness has bestowed this statue upon various institutions across the country and abroad, as a symbol of auspiciousness and to bring peace and prosperity to the Thai people.
