On 22 January 2025, Miss Siriporn Tantipanyathep, Consul-General of Thailand in Kolkata, attended the opening ceremony of the 11th Kolkata International Children’s Film Festival – 11th Edition (KICFF). This festival was a good opportunity for fostering learning and expanding the perspectives of Indian youth through films from various countries. This year, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kolkata contributed to the festival by presenting two Thai youth films: (1) Out of The Nest and (2) Mantra Warrior: The Legend of Eight Moons. Both films received overwhelming response from the audience, highlighting the strength of
the Thai animation industry in delivering engaging and inspiring content for young viewers.

KICFF was established in 2011 through collaboration between the Government of West Bengal and international partners. It provides children and parents with free access to meaningful films while promoting knowledge, cultural understanding, and a global perspective among Indian youth. Beyond showcasing diverse narratives from around the world, the festival also plays a vital role in advancing the children's film industry, fostering artistic and cultural exchanges, and strengthening international ties.
