On 5 March 2025, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, attended the 40th ASEAN-Japan Forum in Karuizawa, Japan, emphasizing three areas of cooperation, namely: (1) advancing a green transition and making ASEAN the future mobility hub of Evs; (2) building a digital ecosystem in ASEAN, cybersecurity and responsible use of AI, and; (3) enhancing physical, digital and people-to-people connectivity.

On regional and international issues, Permanent Secretary highlighted Thailand’s intensified efforts in combatting online fraud, particularly cross-border scam centers.

In addition, Permanent Secretary met with Mr. Namazu Hiroyuki, Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, and discussed ways to further promote bilateral relations between Thailand and Japan, particularly economic cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.
