On 8 March 2023, H.E. Mr. Paolo Dionisi, Ambassador of Italy to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, on the occasion of the Ambassador’s assumption of duty in November 2022.

Both sides discussed key issues of bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade and investment, economic development, and culture, as well as the cooperation in the ASEAN framework. Thailand and Italy will co-host the 7th High-Level Dialogue on ASEAN-Italy Economic Relations in Thailand in October 2023.

Thailand and Italy have longstanding bilateral relations which span over 155 years since the establishment of the diplomatic relations on 3 October 1868, with several areas of cooperation including politics, economy, education, tourism, society and culture, science, technology and innovation.
