On 5 March 2025, H.E. Dr. Lalivan Karnchanachari, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended a reception to launch the annual Ambassador for a Day Programme in celebration of the 2025 International Women’s Day (8 March) at the Residence of the Ambassador of Norway to Thailand.
The Embassy of Norway in Bangkok and the Embassy of the Philippines in Bangkok co-hosted the Ambassador for a Day Programme to raise awareness of the role of women in diplomacy and provide opportunities for youths, selected through a competition, to shadow women ambassadors from various countries in Thailand and executives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a day. Ms. Cataleya Phatoomros, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, was also in attendance.
Afterwards, on 6 March 2025, Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, attended the International Women’s Day event at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC), Bangkok, along with women ambassadors from various countries and executives from United Nations agencies who are based in Thailand. The Director-General delivered a remarks on the role of youth in promoting gender equality, enhancing the potential of women in various careers, including as diplomats, and empowering women through safe offline and online space, as well as supporting women in leadership positions.
