On 4 November 2025, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, met with H.E. Mr. Wang Weiping, Deputy Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Party Committee.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, education, sister cities and artificial intelligence. Deputy Secretary Wang reiterated Guangxi’s commitment to enhancing the facilitation of Thai agricultural products into China through Guangxi’s major ports of entry, so that Chinese consumers could enjoy high quality Thai products with greater ease and convenience. As this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Thailand - China diplomatic relations, both sides expressed their commitment to deepen their collaboration for the mutual benefit of the peoples of both countries.

Deputy Secretary Wang’s visit to Thailand from 4 to 6 November 2025 was his first visit to the country since assuming his current position. Guangxi, a provincial-level autonomous region in the western part of China, which has been designated as “China’s Gateway to ASEAN,“ is a major gateway for the import of Thai agricultural products to China both through land and sea routes.
