On 20 October 2025, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the Ministerial Meeting of the Group of 77 and China, held at the margins of the 16th Session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD XVI), at the United Nations Office in Geneva, Switzerland. The Meeting adopted the Ministerial Declaration of the Group of 77 and China.
Thailand’s statement reaffirmed the importance of an open, inclusive, and effective multilateralism, and called for the reform of the international financial architecture, which Thailand will host the 2026 IMF-World Bank Group Annual Meetings. Thailand’s statement further emphasised the need to combat illicit financial flows and transnational organised crimes, particularly online scams. Thailand also expressed its readiness to share experiences on Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy Model. He underscored that lasting peace serves as the foundation for shared security, stability, and prosperity.
