On 14 December 2025, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, welcomed and had a bilateral discussion with H.E. Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam, during the latter’s working visit to Thailand.

Both sides discussed key issues, including (1) strengthening the Thailand - Viet Nam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in a concrete manner, particularly through the development of a mutually beneficial long-term plan of action for cooperation between the two countries; (2) key activities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Viet Nam in 2026, including exchanges of high-level visits; (3) cooperation between the two countries within the Mekong Subregion and ASEAN frameworks, including cooperation in preventing and combating transnational crimes, particularly online scams affecting people worldwide; (4) an exchange of views on the situation in Myanmar; and (5) the Thailand - Cambodia situation, on which the Vietnamese side expressed its understanding of and support for Thailand’s position in seeking “sustainable peace.”
