On 14 May 2024, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, visited the Phetchaburi Temporary Passport Office at Robinson Phetchaburi, where he was welcomed by Ms. Rungsima Olarikabutr, Chief of the Phetchaburi Temporary Passport Office, and the office’s staff.

The Minister gave policy guidance on people diplomacy, emphasizing the need to continuously improving consular services for the benefits of Thai people to enjoy fast, convenient, and easily accessible service.  Consular matters revolve around daily life which can help boost economic opportunities, promote cross-border trade, and serve the interests of Thai people.  He also highlighted an important role of the Passport Office to collaborate closely with the Phetchaburi Provincial Office and other relevant agencies, as well as to facilitate the private sector, to elevate the well-being of the people in province and nearby areas, particularly the duty to protect Thai nationals abroad. Proactive outreach efforts are key to raise awareness and alert the local population not to fall prey to human trafficking schemes or job scamming.

In addition, the Minister listened to inputs from passport applicants with a view to improve the Ministry's
consular services and undertake better strategic foreign policy planning for the benefit of the Thai people.

The Phetchaburi Temporary Passport Office is located in Robinson Phetchaburi, 2nd Floor, and opens from Monday-Friday (except official holidays), at 10.00 - 18.00 hrs.
