On 21 May 2021, Lt. Gen. (res.) Gabi Ashkenazi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel, made a phone call to H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, to express his condolences for the deaths and injuries of Thai workers from the clashes between Israel and Palestine.

On this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomed the cease-fire and expressed Thailand’s hope that all parties concerned will strictly observe it. He also thanked the Israeli side for its cooperation and assistance on matter related to the Thai casualties and requested that the Israeli side provide adequate care and protection for the Thai workers.

Furthermore, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs shared Thailand’s past experience on organising an international development training course in Thailand, which was participated by Israelis and Muslims and resulted in a successful outcome in forging friendship and harmony between the two peoples. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel expressed interest in the programme and informed that Israel wishes to solve the conflict and not pass it onto the next generation.
