Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs joins Prime Minister at the 2nd Leaders’ Consultation with the President of the Republic of Indonesia.

On 3 August 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, joined the 2nd Leaders’ Consultation, co-chaired by H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, and H.E. Mr. Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia.

Following the meeting, both sides held a joint press conference on the discussions, which covered bilateral cooperation across 4 key pillars: (1) political and security cooperation, including efforts to combat transnational crime and strengthen defence cooperation; (2) economic cooperation, with emphasis on mutual partnership in promoting food and energy security, as well as promoting trade and investment in areas such as in halal industry, sustainable fisheries, and tourism; (3) socio-cultural cooperation, through promoting educational cooperation in areas such as AI skills and promoting Thai and Indonesian language learning; and (4) regional and international cooperation, with both sides exchanging views on various issues, including Myanmar, the Thailand - Cambodia situation, and the Middle East. They also exchanged views on cooperation within international frameworks, including the OECD and ASEAN.

In addition, the Prime Minister and the President of the Republic of Indonesia witnessed the exchange of 2 documents, comprising: (1) the Roadmap on Strategic Partnership between Thailand and Indonesia 2026 - 2030, signed by both Foreign Ministers, which sets out the direction for advancing bilateral relations between the two countries for the tangible benefit of the peoples; and (2) Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Education of Thailand and the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education of Indonesia on Cooperation in the Field of Education.
