On 19 December 2025, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, had a telephone conversation with the Honorable Marco Rubio, U.S. Secretary of State, regarding the Thailand - Cambodia border situation, as a follow-up to their prior phone conversation on 11 December 2025.

Both sides discussed the latest developments in the Thailand - Cambodia border situation. The Foreign Minister reaffirmed Thailand’s position and shared information on the way forward, including participation in the Special ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on 22 December 2025 in Kuala Lumpur. The U.S. Secretary of State took note of the developments and expressed readiness to render support, as both sides will continue to stay in close dialogue in this regard.
