On 7 June 2024, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, made an introductory phone call with H.E. Mr. Bui Thanh Son, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam.

The Thai Foreign Minister expressed his appreciation for the congratulatory message from his Vietnamese counterpart on his assumption of duty.

Both sides looked forward to working closely to further advance the friendship and strategic partnership between Thailand and Viet Nam, particularly in the area of economic cooperation.
