On 23 March 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a high-level security delegation from the European External Action Service (EEAS). The delegation comprised Ms. Paola Pampaloni, Deputy Managing Director for Asia and the Pacific; Brigadier General Danail Baev, Director of Intelligence of the European Union Military Staff; and Mr. Cosmin Dobran, Director for Peace, Partnerships and Crisis Management.
 
Both sides exchanged views on global and regional security developments and explored ways to further strengthen the Thailand - EU security partnership in order to jointly address evolving regional and global geopolitical challenges. They also discussed the Thailand - Cambodia border situation. Also in attendance were H.E. Mrs. Luisa Ragher, Ambassador of the European Union to Thailand, as well as senior representatives from key Thai security agencies, including the Ministry of Defence, the Royal Thai Police, the National Security Council, the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA), and the National Intelligence Agency.
 
This visit marked the first mission to Thailand by a high-level European Union delegation comprising both civilian and military representatives, reflecting the growing momentum of Thailand - EU security and strategic cooperation. In addition, the Ministry facilitated a series of engagements for the delegation, including bilateral meetings with the Permanent Secretary of Defence and the Deputy Secretary-General of the National Security Council. The delegation also visited and had a discussion with the Anti Online Scam Operation Center of the Royal Thai Police to advance cooperation in combating online scams, and participated in the Thailand - EU Security Exchange with relevant Thai security agencies.
