On 11 February 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Radamés Jesús Gómez Azuaje, Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Thailand, with residence in Kuala Lumpur, after presenting the Letter of Credence to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua.

The Ambassador provided an update on domestic developments in Venezuela, emphasizing the Government’s commitment to legislative reforms and economic recovery aimed at strengthening economic stability and improving the well-being of the Venezuelan people. He also expressed his intention to expand trade cooperation and invited foreign investors to explore opportunities in Venezuela.

The Ambassador shared updates on Venezuela's oil industry and the strategic plan to enhance oil production capacity, while also extending an invitation to foreign investors to participate in the energy sector. The Thai side expressed interest in expanding trade and cooperation in the energy industry to create business opportunities for the Thai private sector and strengthen the country’s energy security. Both sides also discussed promoting collaboration in other potential sectors, including tourism and agriculture.
