On 23 May 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, accompanied H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, to attend a merit-making and alms-giving ceremony in dedication to Her Majesty Queen Rambhai Barni hosted by the Royal Thai Embassy in Paris at Wat Buddhananachat, Paris, the French Republic. Also in attendance were H.E. Mr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, H.E. Mr. Nikorndej Balankura, Ambassador of Thailand to the French Republic, H.E. Ms. Sabida Thaised, Minister of Culture, H.E. Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, as well as the local Thai community.

Following the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Sihasak joined the Prime Minister to meet with the Thai community and visit the temple’s canteen where Thais brought a variety of food to cook for guests and participants. The Prime Minister greeted and expressed appreciation for all Thais attending the ceremony today from the French Republic and nearby countries. He expressed pride in seeing how well Thais abroad are representing Thailand. He also highlighted that the Thai government remains committed to its efforts to help ensure a good quality of life for Thais abroad, and to promote cooperation between Thailand and the French Republic in areas beneficial for Thai citizens and the country. These areas include trade, investment, energy, creative economy, tourism and cultural heritage, with an overall view to boosting confidence in Thailand.

Deputy Prime Minister Sihasak shared with the Thai community that he was the Ambassador of Thailand to the French Republic and was always pleased to visit France because Thais in France are cordial and united, and have long played a vital role in advancing relations between Thailand and the French Republic.
