On 24 May 2025, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in the Extended Informal Consultation at the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ level on the sidelines of the 46th ASEAN Summit and other related meetings in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The consultation was held under the leadership of Malaysia in its capacity as ASEAN Chair and followed the Informal Consultation among the current (Malaysia), previous (Lao PDR), and incoming (Philippines) Chairs of ASEAN on the implementation of the Five-Point Consensus (5PC). The meeting discussed ways forward on addressing the situation in Myanmar, while Thailand played a constructive role in advancing key priorities, particularly in promoting a more coordinated and effective approach to humanitarian assistance for Myanmar.
