On 4 February 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, delivered a keynote address entitled “Navigating the New Geopolitics: Thailand’s Strategy in a Multipolar World” at the Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University. The event was moderated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Bhanubhatra Jittiang, and attended by approximately 60 participants, including faculty members, members of the diplomatic corps in Thailand, students from various institutions, and members of the general public.

In his address, the Foreign Minister outlined Thailand’s foreign policy and strategic approach amid a rapidly evolving global geopolitical landscape. He emphasised the importance of reinforcing Thailand’s role as a proactive and constructive actor on the global stage, advancing multi-dimensional and multi-directional diplomacy, as well as striking a balance between addressing immediate challenges, particularly the border situation, and laying a foundation for Thailand’s foreign policy to effectively meet new challenges in the long run.

The Foreign Minister placed strong emphasis on pursuing people-centred diplomacy, strengthening domestic capacity and internal alignment to enhance Thailand’s credibility and engagement on the international stage, and advancing economic diplomacy, as well as responding to challenges such as online scams and the situation in Myanmar. The talk was followed by an interactive discussion between the Minister and participants during the Q&A session.
