On 6 August 2024, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, co-chaired with the Honourable Dato' Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, in the 15th Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation (JC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

On this occasion, both sides discussed ways to strengthen Thailand - Malaysia bilateral relations, as well as follow up the implementation of the outcomes of the 14th JC in Bangkok and past discussions between the Prime Ministers of the two countries in various occasions. They also consulted on expediting pending cooperation issues under the JC mechanism to yearn concrete results. In addition, both sides also discussed cooperation promotion in issues that could respond to current challenges, including changes in digital technology, food and energy security, and human security, in order to promote better living standards for the peoples and border area connectivity between Thailand and Malaysia. They also used this opportunity to exchange views on regional and international issues.

The meeting highlights both governments’ commitment to enhance relations in all areas, both bilaterally and multilaterally, for the benefits and prosperity of the peoples and the countries.
