On 6 August 2024, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, paid a courtesy call on and had a discussion with the Honourable Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, during his visit to Malaysia to co-chair the 15th Thailand-Malaysia Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation (JC) and the 6th Thailand-Malaysia Joint Development Strategy for Border Areas (JDS) meetings in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Both sides discussed on ways to strengthen bilateral relations and agreed to drive forward the cooperation comprehensively in areas of mutual interest and benefits, especially in developing border economic areas to achieve concrete outcomes, with countries' prosperity and better living standards of the peoples in both Thailand and Malaysia at heart.
