Minister of Foreign Affairs holds a bilateral meeting with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Australia during the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week

On 30 October 2025, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a bilateral meeting with Senator The Honourable Penny Wong, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Australia, on the sidelines of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week 2025 in Gyeongju, Republic of Korea.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Australia conveyed Australia’s condolences on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.

On this occasion, both sides agreed to promote economic cooperation, whereby the Thai side would welcome more visits by the Australian Trade and Tourism Minister and Australian business delegation to promote investments between both countries.

In addition, both sides also discussed cooperation in the Mekong subregion and exchanged views on regional issues of common interest, such as the Myanmar issue and the situation on Thai-Cambodian border.
