On 25 October 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, together with other ASEAN Foreign Ministers, attended the Signing Ceremony of the Instrument of Accession to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC) by Finland. The ceremony was held on the sidelines of the 47th ASEAN Summit.

The TAC embodies the principles of promoting peace and stability in the region, emphasizing the peaceful settlement of disputes. It is also open for non-ASEAN countries that wish to strengthen relations with ASEAN to accede to the Treaty. At present, 58 countries have become High Contracting Parties to the TAC, with Finland being the 58th country to sign the Treaty.
