Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs attended the ASEAN-New Zealand Ministerial Meeting where he advocated cooperation to tackle COVID-19, sharing of expertise in contact tracing and telemedicine, free trade, sustainable recovery using BCG Model, counter terrorism, cyber security, as well as people-to-people exchanges

On 5 August 2021, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, attended the ASEAN-New Zealand Ministerial Meeting via videoconference. The Meeting discussed ASEAN-New Zealand cooperation in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic and on sustainable post-COVID economic recovery, especially on upholding multilateralism through the swift ratification of RCEP and the upgrade of ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (AANZFTA). The Meeting also discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in various areas, including counter terrorism, transnational crimes, cyber security, connectivity, narrowing the development gap,
health cooperation, sustainable development, environmental conservation, climate-smart agriculture, education, and people-to-people exchanges.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasised cooperation on the COVID-19 response with New Zealand in areas which
New Zealand has expertise, especially contact tracing and telemedicine in response to COVID-19.  Furthermore, Thailand proposed
the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy Model as a path for sustainable recovery, and to further explore cooperation on research and knowledge exchange in areas such as natural resources management, ecotourism, and marine plastic debris.
