Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, at the 11th East Asia Summit Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, stressed the importance of strategic trust and confidence and win-win cooperation among major powers, advocated for COVID-19 response, and promoted sustainable recovery using BCG Economy Model.

On 4 August 2021, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, participated in the 11th East Asia Summit (EAS) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting via videoconference. The Meeting was chaired by H.E. Dato Erywan Pehin Yusof, Second Foreign Minister of Brunei Darussalam. The Foreign Ministers and representatives of EAS Participating Countries as well as the Secretary-General of ASEAN also attended the Meeting.

The Meeting reviewed the progress and discussed the future direction of EAS cooperation framework, focusing on the COVID-19 response and post-pandemic recovery. It also emphasised the importance of EAS as the premier Leaders-led forum for promoting strategic trust and constructive dialogues between ASEAN Member States and dialogue partners. The Meeting expressed support to the three proposed outcome documents on strengthening cooperation on (1) mental health, (2) economic recovery through tourism and (3) green recovery, which will be adopted by EAS Leaders at the 16th EAS Summit in October this year.
