On 26 May 2025, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, accompanied H.E. Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, to the 46th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The ASEAN Leaders exchanged views and their vision on how to advance the ASEAN Community amidst global uncertainties, as well as to further enhance engagements with external partners for the benefit of the people in the region.
Thailand advanced cooperation to strengthen “Inclusivity and Sustainability” in line with Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship theme, through fostering deeper regional integration to address the rapidly evolving global economic landscape, ensuring ASEAN remains a peaceful, secure, stable, and truly people-oriented. In addition, Thailand also called for closer collaboration to safeguard human security, combat transnational crimes, and promote sustainable development in all dimensions, particularly areas that directly affect the well-being of the people such as disaster management, clean and renewable energy, transboundary haze mitigation, and climate action.
