On 13 May 2024, Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, welcomed and had a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mr. Jyri Järviaho, Ambassador of Finland to Thailand, who paid a courtesy call on the occasion of the former's assumption of duty.

The dialogue focused on ways to strengthen bilateral relations, including exchange of high-level visits and the preparation of the 5th Thai – Finnish Political Consultation to be held in September this year. Both sides also addressed the ongoing process to ensure and enhance protection of Thai berry pickers in Finland, and exchanged views on Thai political landscape, as well as the situations in Myanmar and Ukraine.

In 2024, Thailand and Finland commemorates the 70th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations.
