On 25 February 2026, the Department of European Affairs held a consultation meeting with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) on tourism promotion plans for the European market. The meeting was co-chaired by Ms. Somrudee Poopornanake, Acting Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, and Mrs. Chiravadee Khunsub, Deputy Governor for Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Africa, TAT.
The TAT briefed the meeting on tourism promotion plans for the European market in order to enable the Department of European Affairs, as well as relevant Royal Thai Embassies and Consulates-General, to work together more effectively and achieve more concrete outcomes. Key focus areas included driving tourism strategies for both major and secondary destinations, as well as expanding target markets across various segments. In addition, participants exchanged views on the international geopolitical landscape that may impact tourism, as well as visa measures of Thailand and European countries.
