The Thai Ambassador to Cuba with residence in Mexico met with the Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment of Cuba

On 7 December 2021, H.E. Mr. Paisan Rupanichkij, Ambassador of Thailand to Cuba with residence in Mexico City had a meeting with H.E. Mr.  Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz, Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment of Cuba, in which Mrs. Deborah Rivas Saavedra, Vice Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment of Cuba also participated. Both sides agreed that Thailand and Cuba have the potential to further promote cooperation to expand bilateral trade and investment.

The Cuban side informed that Cuba recently hosted a webinar on Business Opportunities in Cuba, and was willing to share information on Business Opportunities in Cuba with the Ambassador so that it can be circulated to interested Thai private sector.

The Ambassador informed the Minister about the joint venture between Siam Bioscience Co., Ltd. and CIMAB S.A. of Cuba for the production of bio-pharmaceuticals in Thailand, the establishment of Thailand-Latin America Business Council to promote trade and investment cooperation with Latin American and Caribbean countries, as well as Thailand’s policy of opening the country after the outbreak of COVID-19 to promote tourism, and hoped that the Minister would be able to visit Thailand at the earliest opportunity.
