On 12-14 June 2024, Mrs. Suphanvasa Chotikajan Tang, Director-General of the Department of Treaties and Legal Affairs, together with Prof. Dr. Vitit Muntarbhorn, Mr. Thana Duangratana, and Mr. Viraphand Vacharathit, members of the Thai national group of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), attended the 3rd Congress of the Members of the Court on the occasion of the 125th Anniversary of the PCA at the Peace Palace, The Hague, Netherlands.

The Congress of the Members of the Court took place under the theme “A Court fit for its Time: Pursuing the Evolution of the Permanent Court of Arbitration for the Fulfilment of its Promise” with discussions on topics including the PCA and Inter-State Dispute Resolution (including conciliation), PCA and investor-State Dispute Resolution (including conciliation), PCA Around the World: Special Focus on Our Overseas Offices & Regional Groups, and Innovation at the PCA. The Congress also provided opportunities for legal advisors to discuss with the Secretary-General of the PCA, and for Members of the Court to adopt the Resolution.

The Congress was an opportunity for Thai Members of the Court and legal advisors to exchange views and experiences on international law with other members and legal advisors from various countries around the world.
