On 11 - 12 March 2025, Mr. Paisan Rupanichkij, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, on behalf of the Permanent Secretary and ASEAN Senior Official - Thailand, led the Thai Delegation to the 27th ASEAN-India Senior Officials’ Meeting (AISOM) in Manila, which was co-chaired by the Philippines, as Country Coordinator for ASEAN-India Relations, and India.

The Meeting reviewed progress and discussed ways to advance ASEAN-India relations under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, especially maritime, economic, and energy cooperation, and people-to-people connectivity, as well as followed up on the discussion at the 21st ASEAN-India Summit on 10 October 2024 in Vientiane. They also exchanged views on regional and international developments.

At the meeting, Thailand proposed strategic actions to take forward ASEAN-India relations through (1) acceleration of cooperation in priority areas to facilitate transportation, trade and investment, and to enhance regional connectivity; (2) continuation of ASEAN-India cooperation, through the development of the ASEAN-India Plan of Action (2026-2030), and the promotion of people-to-people ties through leveraging the 2025 ASEAN-India Year of Tourism; and (3) green transition and digital transformation, by encouraging India to collaborate with the relevant ASEAN-led mechanisms, including the ASEAN Centre for Sustainable Development Studies and Dialogue (ACSDSD) in Bangkok, and to support the development of the ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA).
