On 14 March 2025, Mrs. Tongrudee Markboon, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, met with Mrs. Bian Lixin, Director-General of the Department of Personnel of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, to discuss key aspects of human resource management. The discussion covered topics such as organizational structure design, recruitment process of new diplomats and criteria for diplomatic postings.

Both sides also exchanged views and best practices in addressing challenges related to human resource management, including the shortage of diplomats with diverse foreign language expertise, the increasing resignation rate and measures relating to assignment of personnel
to hardship posts.
