On 24 April 2026, Mr. Chettaphan Maksamphan, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, had a discussion with H.E. Mr. Patricio Powell Osorio, Ambassador of the Republic of Chile to Thailand, who paid a farewell courtesy call upon the completion of his duty.

Both sides highlighted the close and longstanding Thailand - Chile relations, which have continued for over 64 years, and exchanged views on ways to further enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest. They discussed trade and investment, science and innovation, as well as opportunities in the electric vehicle industry and clean energy, and people-to-people relations. The Deputy Permanent Secretary expressed appreciation to the Chilean Ambassador for his role in strengthening bilateral relations, while the Chilean Ambassador conveyed his positive impressions of Thailand and the friendships forged during his tenure.
