On 23 July 2026, Mr. Chettaphan Maksamphan, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, held a discussion with Mr. Jason Evans, U.S. Under Secretary of State for Management, on the occasion of his visit to Thailand from 22 - 26 July 2026.

Both sides reaffirmed the importance of the longstanding Thailand - United States alliance, which is founded on shared interests and serves as a key pillar underpinning cooperation across all dimensions. This includes promoting and supporting the diplomatic and consular representatives of both sides in performing their duties to the fullest potential. Such cooperation would enhance official operations in advancing security, economic, and social cooperation, as well as protection and consular services for their nationals.

Both sides also agreed to continue working closely at all levels to strengthen cooperation on diplomatic capabilities and consular affairs, with a view to ensuring the continued effective functioning of their respective missions for the benefit of both countries and their peoples.
