On 20 February 2025, Mr. Chettaphan Maksamphan, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, spoke as panelist on the topic “Fostering Responsible AI Ecosystems: Balancing Innovation and Governance”, during Canada-in-Asia Conference, in Singapore. He joined Mr. Mark Schaan, Deputy Secretary - AI, Privy Council Office, Canada, and Denise Wong, Assistant Chief Executive, Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), Singapore exchanging views from various perspectives on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in a responsible manner, specifically focusing on the challenges and best practices in applying AI to public services or government agencies, as well as regional cooperation to enhance AI capabilities.

In additions, the Deputy Permanent Secretary discussed with Mr. Loy Hui Chien, Southeast Asia II Directorate, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore, about the application of AI for work within the context of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and with Mr. Mark Schaan about cooperation between Thailand and Canada to promote the effective use of AI.
