On 7 February 2023, Mr. Sanan Angubolkul, Chairman of the Board of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Trade of Thailand, and Dr. Atchaka Sibunruang, Chairman of TCEB Board met with H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs (DPM/FM) to discuss on the campaign for Thailand’s bid to host the Specialised Expo 2028 in Phuket and the promotion of Thailand-China trade and investment.

DPM/FM stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation among stakeholders to ensure Phuket’s readiness to be a host city. Also, the Expo will not only open a door of opportunities for Phuket, but other neighbouring provinces as well.

On trade and investment, the Thai Chamber of Commerce outlined its plan to attract Chinese investment and increase a trade volume with China. The Chairman of the Board of Trade also emphasised private sectors’ readiness to support the governement in providing humanitarian assistance for Türkiye in the earthquake situation.
