Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs joins the Prime Minister in meeting with executives of the Lowy Institute

On 18 August 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, joined H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, in meeting with executives of the Lowy Institute during the official visit to the Commonwealth of Australia in Sydney.
 
The Prime Minister shared his vision on the increasingly fragmented global geopolitical landscape, underscoring that strengthening regionalism to preserve space for cooperation, widening partnerships to maintain strategic autonomy, and building resilience through deeper economic integration are keys to strengthening the rules-based international order. He also highlighted that, as countries with a strong stake in effective multilateralism, Thailand and Australia are well placed to work together in advancing a more inclusive, effective, and resilient international system.
 
The Deputy Prime Minister also participated in exchanging views with the Institute’s executives, as well as academics participating in the event, on key regional developments, including the situation in Myanmar and the Thailand – Cambodia situation.
