On 19 August 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, joined H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, in meeting with H.E. Ms. Sam Mostyn AC, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, during the official visit to the Commonwealth of Australia in Canberra.
The Deputy Prime Minister joined in the discussion, where both sides welcomed the longstanding relations between Thailand and Australia and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties through exchanges of high-level visits, especially on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2027. Both sides also exchanged views on ways to expand cooperation in various areas, including security and defence, the economy, trade and investment, as well as people-to-people links, which serve as an important foundation of Thailand - Australia relations.
