On 15 July 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in a seminar on “Thailand’s Strategic Position: Opportunities and Challenges in the Global Geopolitical Order” at Rangsit University, where he delivered a keynote address on “Global and ASEAN Geopolitical Disruptions: Structural Challenges and Opportunities for Thailand.” Dr. Arthit Ourairat, President of Rangsit University, delivered the opening remarks and in attendance were more than 250 participants, comprising faculty members, academics and students.

The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the key issues in driving Thailand’s foreign policy amidst the current geopolitical landscape. These include enhancing Thailand’s status, role, and leverage on the international stage; pursuing economic diplomacy that delivers tangible benefits to the country and its people; strengthening public understanding of Thailand’s foreign affairs; addressing the Thailand - Cambodia situation as well as promoting inter-agency coordination in the conduct of diplomacy through the “Team Thailand” approach. He also exchanged views and engaged in a Q&A session with the participants, covering a wide range of topics, such as Thailand’s position on major power competition and the decline of the rules-based international order, Thailand’s leading role within ASEAN, and the role of artificial intelligence in diplomacy.
