On 13 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with H.E. Saeed Bin Mubarak Al Hajeri, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, and H.E. Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates, on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit in New Delhi, India.

Both sides discussed ways to strengthen economic cooperation with Thailand welcoming the UAE’s standing as Thailand’s largest trading partner in the Middle East while the UAE views Thailand as a hub in the region. They also agreed to promote more balanced two-way trade and investment, including through expediting the conclusion of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), and discussed ways to enhance cooperation on energy security to support sustainable growth.

Both sides also exchanged views on developments in the Middle East and reaffirmed the importance of respecting the principle of freedom of navigation and the peaceful settlement of disputes through dialogue and diplomacy.
