H.E. Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, will be attending the 3rd EU Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum (IPMF) and the 24th ASEAN-EU Ministerial Meeting (AEMM) on 2 February 2024 in Brussels, Belgium.

The IPMF is a high-level platform for dialogue and cooperation between the European Union and its Indo-Pacific partners, as well as representatives from regional organizations in the Indo-Pacific such as the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) and the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF). The 3rd IPMF is expected to bring together around 80 participants, mostly Ministerial-level, from Europe and the Indo-Pacific, spanning from the east coast of Africa to South Asia, Southeast and Northeast Asia, and to the Pacific Islands.

The 24th AEMM is a biannual meeting between ASEAN and EU Foreign Ministers, including the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission (HR/VP). The AEMM aims to discuss and advance bilateral relations and cooperation between ASEAN and the EU in all dimensions. At the 23rd AEMM on 1 December 2020 via video conference, the EU and ASEAN elevated relations to the level of Strategic Partnership.

The presence of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs at the 3rd IPMF and 24th AEMM will provide Thailand with the opportunity to discuss and chart the direction of cooperation between Thailand, ASEAN and the EU. This will help enhance concrete cooperation between Thailand and ASEAN, and the EU in areas such as the green and digital transitions, infrastructure and sustainable supply chains, and in addressing challenges in geopolitics and security, and in the areas of the economy, the environment and climate change in the Indo-Pacific.
